Confirmation

The reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of Baptismal grace. For by the sacrament of Confirmation, the baptized are bound more perfectly to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are as true witnesses of Christ more strictly obliged, as true witnesses of Christ, to spread and defend the faith by word and deed. (CCC 1285)

Sacramental Preparation

Students and parents of children wishing to receive the sacrament of Confirmation are required to attend a weekend Confirmation Formation Session. The students are also required to attend the S & S Youth Retreat.

Students receiving the sacraments of First Communion and/or Confirmation are to take part in the May Crowning.

As part of their preparation for Confirmation, all students in grades 6 & 7 are required to participate in one Middle School Youth Group Service project.

Altar Serving/Lectoring

All Christian life is about service to others. To establish service as a standard for our children's lives, all 7th and 8th grade students are expected to be trained and participate in either the ministries of altar serving or lectoring. This is in addition to the specific service hours required for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
